Description:
The state road 106 "Jonica" connects Reggio Calabria to Taranto, through a route of 491 km along the Ionian coast of Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia. It is a strategic link for Southern Italy, as it connects the two capitals, the numerous coastal municipalities, the Mediterranean motorway and the A14 "Adriatica" motorway which ends in Taranto.
In Calabria, Anas has a comprehensive artery redevelopment plan in place, which includes both the construction of sections with two separate carriageways, each with two lanes in each direction, and the safety of the existing artery.
This redevelopment plan aims to maximize the return on investments, with the aim of improving service standards, raising the level of safety with sustainable costs and times, while reducing the environmental impact of the infrastructure and determining an immediate economic impact on the territory.
